As far as I am aware, there is no patch which will allow AppleWorks (any
version) to work with the original Epson APL card. I believe, however, that
Epson produced a later version of the card with updated ROMs which cured the
problem. You may be able to get some sense out of your local Epson agent(s) on
this.
