As tax time approaches, I'm considering using a tax preparing software
package on my IIe. I've gotten a poor review of the 1040Works
AppleWorks templates. I've also gotten a raving review of HowardSoft's
$250 package, but that's well out of my budget. I read a favorable
review of Swiftax, but I'm leary of spending $70 on that unless it's
really good. I also saw TaxCalc for $30 - more reasonable, but it's
hard to tell what it does. Also mentioned in the Swiftax review article
is Softfiew's graphics-oriented TaxView (GS-only?). I also attempted
unsuccessfully to obtain a copy of a review done by inCider/A+ in
March of 1990 on tax software for the //. If anyone has that issue
lying around and would be willing to copy the article, I'd gladly
reimburse you for your trouble and expense. Are there any other
programs out there? Anyone used any of the aforementioned? Thanks.
