The CDEV is called "Extra Bits" and it works great for eliminating the 
flicker. Apparently, (if my memory serves me!) System 6 uses some BRAM
bits to tell the computer how to handle drawing the cursor if you are
using an accelerator.

Extra Bits is not shareware or freeware so I can't upload it for you.
You can get it by buying a recent back issue of GS+. Or perhaps some-
one has already written a PD program to accomplish the same thing?
