Yep.

The card is officially known as the Apple 3.5 Disk Controller Card. It runs
the Apple 3.5 (800K), the Apple UniDisk 3.5 (800K) and the Apple SuperDrive
(1.4Mb).

You MUST have a real live SuperDrive to be able to make use of high density
disks. The MS-DOS FST (from all accounts) will not work on anything less than
a SuperDrive. The standard Apple 3.5 which was supplied with your IIgs will not
cut it. Mac HFS (800K) is not a problem, of course.

Who needs it?? AFE is just too slow. Translate with the HFS FST on your IIgs,
or look around for the ProDOS init for the Mac (it certainly comes with the
IIe card for the Mac LC, if someone with one of those). Either option is both
faster and more clever than AFE.
