Come now Jawaid, how many general Apple II users/lovers know a lot about IBM's
(and would be willing to share that information with those turncoat users
who've left the Apple world... =) ? After all, most of us are so busy with
our own affairs that helping someone with a <gasp> IBM clone do ANYTHING would
be asking a lot.
On the other hand, asking an IBM forum about an Apple emulator would be a
hopeless task. "Duh, Apple?" So a crossover group specifically about Apple
emulation on an IBM isn't a bad idea. I hope to see his group available here
since I am very impressed with the work done on the Apple II+ emulator and
would like to expand it to at least an enhanced //e. Then my new 486-50
could actually do something USEFUL beyond just making me compatable with
work so that I can work at home.. <grin>
So don't be too patronizing about something that COULD help give new life to a
lot of old Apple software and possibly spark some renewed interest in the
Apple II community by those who have long since forsaken it. (After all, you
guys started a group for GNO, so... =)
BTW, on another note, I downloaded a program from GEnie last night that
advertises being able to read Apple disks (5.25" I assume) on an IBM, but
the guy who packed it used a Superdrive and used Shrinkit to pack the
IBM disk image! (ARGH! What a weird way to do it!) So, without a superdrive
I have no way to access it! So, if there IS someone here with access to both
a Superdrive and an IBM, maybe I could upload it, get it unShrunk and then
ZIPped so that it can easily be put on an IBM by those of us who don't have
a super drive (and aren't likely to shell out the bux that Apple wants for 'em
either!). If anyone could handle this task, I'd be very appreciative.
Thanks.
