Sure we do.  It works under GNO (supposedly).  I had the cjpeg (convert) and
djpeg (de-convert) programs.  All I know is that djpeg worked, but it took
so long that I didn't even want to consider running cjpeg.  I figured that 
it would take so long (like 8+ hours, in some cases) that it really wouldn't
be worth your while since the disk space saved would be negligible in terms
of time spent converting!

Converting to a jpeg would certainly give you significant space saving, but
unless someone takes the time to optimize the code (I would do it if I had
time to learn a language!), it's not going to be worth it.  (Gosh, I how
many times am I gonna say that?!?).
