I had a similar problem with a TV I had. It could be that your tube is
blown, but first I'd check if any xtors, resistors, or caps are
disfunctional which connect to the red gun. My first guess would be a
blown xtor. My problem was kind of weird in that a spark gap was bad.
Strange but true, but a replacement fixed the problem.
