	Yes, which is why the finder's aliasing for folders on the desktop is  
better. Which do you prefer?

	A main reason why people want to use aliases for normal things on the  
Mac/GS is that finding things in the finder takes a while. WHo wants to dig  
through 6-7 folders to get to an application? This can also hold true on the  
GS. However, I'm sure that when they were desinging System 6, it may have came  
up and discarded because there was more important features and functions to add  
to the OS. Its not that I don't feel that they are important, its just that  
there is only a finite amount of time that the Apple II team has to work with,  
and there are more important things that they need to address first. Perhaps  
one day it might be added, but don't hold your breath right now over it.
