Re: A+/InCider article: ACK!

The following revelation escaped Jim Wong's lips:

I wouldn't go so far as saying "intolerable", but at least Keizer
should have showed some objectivity in his review. Granted, I have
*not* read the article, but I will do so at my earliest convenience.
However, knowing Keizer's past track record with writing about the Apple
II (especially in Compute! magazine), I can understand Stephen's
frustrations. Macintosh System 7 is nice. Apple IIGS System 6 is very
nice. I'll bet Keizer compared System 7 running on a fast colour Mac II
with a big, fast hard drive and System 6 on a 2-meg, 2-floppy GS.
Again, conjecture on my part, but I think you get my drift.

Doesn't come close to the functionality and integration of FST's.
FST's are one reason why I place GS/OS at the top of the personal
computer OS pile.

Tog isn't the end-all-be-all of interface gurus. I personally find
the Macintosh static thumbs (*that's* the proper term ;-) more confusing
and counter-intuitive than the GS's. All other GUI's as far as I know
have thumbs indicating the ratio of displayed content/total content.
Amiga Workbench, NeXTStep, most implementations of X Windows, etc. I'd
love to find an INIT somewhere which fixes up the Mac scroll bars...
