1) OS X has nothing to do with Linux.
2) OS X has nothing to do with the Apple// (which pre-dates the Mac).
3) OS X has nothing to do with OS/2.
4) Who knows what OS X has to do with a help desk newsgroup.
5) Obviously the OP is a troll (sometimes baiting them can be fun).
6) I volunteer installing operating systems on computers for charity. I've installed Windows, OS X, BSD, and Linux. The ONLY machines I get back because of a virus or security issues are the Windows machines. The Windows machines have to get special treatment (anti-virus, anti-spyware, firewall, and a whole lot of third party utilities) because none of what is included is effective. 7) There was a discussion in one of the Linux sub-groups the other day about the nature of Linux anti-virus programs. It seems they are only there for servers to scan for Windows malware.

I doubt the OP has the brains or guts to read the follow-ups to his own messages. Even if he did the response is likely to be one of "Don't confuse me with the facts".

When it comes to degrees of security, my first choice would be BSD. I would rate the OPs blind faith preference at the bottom.
