It sounds like you still have old Apple hardware, so it'll be better
to use the native disk drives to do the reading. If you have serial
hardware on your Apple II, you can use ADT or ADTPro:

If you have no serial hardware, you can go the audio route with ADTPro
or Seb Kienzl's "Poor Man's ADT":
