2.6 Ghz Pentium 4, 2GB RAM, 40GB hard drive. Been running anti-spyware
programs often, as this is a shared computer and some co-workers go to
sites that I'd never.

As I said, Adaware will run a full scan pretty fast, but find nothing.
It is S&D that takes forever.
