Not in my case. My introduction to computing was my younger brother
getting a 16K TRS-80 around 1981... I was 14 at the time and thought the
computer was the most disappointing thing ever. I took art & design in
college and went on to a series of menial jobs punctuated by long periods
of unemployment. It wasn't until 1998 that I used a computer again (Win95)
and was once again utterly disappointed by the experience... however, by
that time it was quite apparent that it was a necessary evil and I wound
up buying an iMac. In 2000 or 2001 I bought a complete IIc at the thrift
shop (mainly out of boredom, not knowing what it was at all) and after
scanning the manuals for a few hours I wrote my first AppleSoft program.
No "good old days" for this cat ;-)
