Questions about Apple IIgs

Could anybody, please, answer these for me?

Model: Apple IIgs A2S6000, from '87, Rom 1, + 670-0025 A memory card,
with Appleworks GS 1.1

1) What would it take to connect it to a PC VGA monitor instead of
Apple RGB?

2)  Can it be upgraded to Rom 3 and, if yes, then how?

3) Possibility of obtaining and using GS 6.0.1 with it?
