There are lots of posts on connecting a GS to other displays including
VGA monitors, so would recommend doing a search on this group. I
personally use a combination of displays, but for the VGA option i use
a Scart to VGA upscalar by CYP model CM-345S. Think they retail for
about £120, but i picked one of ebay for about £45. You will also need
a GS to Scart cable. You can make your own or buy one from
http://vintageware.orconhosting.net.nz/scart.html. Details on how to
make your own is also on that site. If you have a VGA montior with
scart input you might be lucky and the scart input display ok, i
haven't had much luck that route and stuck with the Scart to VGA
converter

For a Full ROM03 upgrade you will need to do a motherboard replacement
as you can't upgrade the ROM01 boards themselves. Alot of people
prefer the ROM01 as its more compatible for older Apple II software
and with a 1MB card there isn't much difference between the two. All
GS software should run on either board. Though would recommend getting
a larger than 1MB card anyway if you want to use GS/OS

You can download it from various sites, but getting it to the GS will
need a little more work depending if you have a PC or Mac. You can buy
GS/OS on disks from syndicomm(if i remember correctly) and some people
sell sets on ebay.If you have an older MAC (and download the images)
that can read prodos disks you could in theory make the disks on the
older mac then just use them on the GS, new PCs and MACs can't read
the 800k disks, so things are more difficult there. Where abouts are
you? I can make a set of disks up for if you want. Though you really
need more than 1.25mb ram to run version 6.0.1 properly. I would also
recommened looking at compact flash as a form of hard disk as that
makes the GS far more usable and is very reasonably priced (CFFA one).
There are a few out there but i use a CFFA card and you can get it
from http://dreher.net/?s=projects/CFforAppleII&c=projects/CFforAppleII/main.php.

I haven't covered everything, but people are very helpful on here and
will no doubt post further. I would also do a search as all of these
questions have been asked at various times :-) myself included. Good
luck
