Congrats on getting the hard drive and battery issues sorted out. As
for error $0308, I just did a quick search through Google Groups and
it appears that this error is a "Damaged Heartbeat Queue". The
suggested causes I read varied between:

a) Bad RAM
b) Overheating
c) A software problem (i.e. a piece of software writing to an area of
memory it shouldn't)

I would therefore suggest (if you haven't already), try booting GS/OS
from a bare-bones floppy and see if the problem persists (i.e. rule
out any software problems). If the problem persists, try cooling the
system down by running with the top off the case. If the problem still
persists, consult your nearest RAM diagnostic. :-)

Good luck, and let us know how you get on.

Cheers,
Mike
