IIGS partial success

Here's a brief update of my re-entry into IIGS land. It's been a bumpy
ride so far, but here goes:

1) Error $0308 pops up (swapping RAM cards - a 4MB GS Sauce card with
a 3MB GS-RAM card yields the same error). It could very well be
possible that both cards have bad RAM. (or maybe, there's a bug with
the SecondSight card?) Intermittent lock-ups and the "Ding!" sound
(indicative of a RAM crash) are what I experienced. I hate to have to
buy a new IIGS RAM card, but it's probably looking that way.

2) Swapping the RamFAST card with the Apple SCSI card (finally!)
allowed me to access the contents of my 80MB hard drive. I've
trepiditiously been copying over files (between a staggering number of
reboots).

3) the battery kit I ordered from ReactiveMicro did the trick as a
replacement for the dead NightOwl battery (last replaced in 1990!).
Very easy to install and I now have a functioning Control Panel
(Woot!) that keeps the correct time, date, and slot settings. :)
