I finally figured out what the problem was, and maybe you should add
this as step in the instructions for SweetPrinter. I had to put the
generic Printer Driver in the Driver folder also. I hadn't done that
because back when I first owned a GS, late 90's, I never printed
anything from GS/OS. I pretty much used regular Appleworks for
everything I did and with that the GS simply runs as a souped up II.

As soon as I figured out what I had done wrong and added the generic
Printer Driver to the Drivers folder I suddenly had Printer show up in
the "Select a Port" window of the DC Control panel. Now it works as
advertised. Thanks for trying to help me figure this out.
