Hi all,

I have offered the kit without socketed ICs, at a discounted price,
and also as a bare board, from early on.  So far, no takers for
either, but I will continue to offer these options.  In terms of IC's
it's hard to define what is obscure.  There are some surprisingly hard
to find 74 series parts in the mix.   I figure someone going this
route would be using a later rev board as donor.   I will also sell
individual parts to anyone needed them.

Looks like continuing with milled sockets is the way to go.  I guess
if someone wants an absolutely authentic (flakey) replica, they can
always find their own sockets.
