The problem is the large number of variables.
There are dozens of monitors (and types of monitors), several IIgs
display modes, and several connection schemes, some expensive.
So it would be quite difficult for any individual to do such
a study.
And when you then consider the wide variations of display photographic
quality and exposure, you can appreciate that this would also be a hard
problem to solve collectively...
When you add to that the fact that, for example, NTSC-scan RGB-to-VGA
converter designs tend to change with the availablilty of new single-
chip solutions, the problem itself isn't standing still.
Frankly, the possibility that an old RGB CRT monitor can be kept
operational longer than a new RGB-to-VGA converter must also be
considered...
