I just bought an Uther from Sean Fahey, and am having some issues, so
I'm asking for assistance here before I send the card back for another
one...
My system is a ROM 3 GS, with no upgrades (other than the Uther.)
I attempted to use ADTPro over ethernet, that didn't work, so I then
moved onto Contiki.
Contiki couldn't get an IP address. And, if I gave it a static IP, it
couldn't do anything.
I've tried the card in slot 2 (Your Card), 3 (Built-In Text Display),
5 (Your Card), and 7 (Your Card).
The router (a Linksys WRT54G v7) and the Uther's link lights light up,
but the Uther doesn't show up in the MAC list on the router.
Broadcast pinging the subnet that the Uther is on causes the activity
light to blink. DHCP requests also cause activity light blinking.
I've also tried plugging it directly into my ThinkPad, which has an
autosensing ethernet port. (No crossover cables necessary. :)) The
ThinkPad saw the card, and connected to it at 10 megabit half duplex,
but with manual IPs set, nothing happened. I also fired up Wireshark,
and attempted to get a DHCP address on the GS. Nothing.
The cable is known good - I linked my ThinkPad to it on one end, and
to the router on the other, and was immediately able to get online.
