Yes, but it was optional so I don't see why it needed to be
removed.  Now that branch prediction is more important, maybe
it should be added back again.


More accurately, it was not implemented in future compilers (since
the Monte Carlo simulator phase was also eliminated.


Is there a Fortran compiler for the Apple II?


Yes, hosted by the Pascal p-system.

I think there is another, but can't seem to remember it
(not counting the Microsoft Z-80 compiler).
