Hello and thanks to all who answered!
I received a 1.4 ROM file from David and put it to use, now "0" and "1"
both work. (Though I ask myself why in the world did AE use windowless
EPROMs that can't be erased?)
The other problems remain. I found that the problem with the CF not
booting goes away if I don't cycle the power too fast, I assume there's
some memory content that survives otherwise and causes problems.
I've not yet been able to get Ultima V to work correctly with the card,
so I guess I'll try exchanging some RAMs. How fast do they have to be?
If the power supply (original Apple) is marginal, would replacing the
electrolytics inside it help? Or is it always going to be marginal with
a Transwarp card in the game?
What about putting in extra thick power wires to slots 3 and 6 to remove
load from the PCB traces, like other people have done on the IIgs? Would
that help in a IIe?
So many questions, I fear I'm beginning to annoy you all.
