A simple solution might be: a change palette icon. Click on it, a
different palette is chosen and thus the dora changed color. Might be
nice for some color cycling effect (the kids might just click on the
icon repeatedly to color cycle dora).

PS: can I suggest "S" rather than "Apple-S", easier for kids to hit,
and also the latter is the keyboard shortcut for "Save Document" that
you might have one day.
