What's wrong with config files?? It would give everyone the ability to
customise as much as possible. I admit it may be a bit of overkill for
a childrens game, but it was you guys who wanted the music turned
off... :-P
My daughter likes the music so I'm inclined to leave the music on by
default (after all, it was for her that I originally wrote the game).
Anyway, I believe I have fixed the lockup bug by introducing a delay
when switching songs. I ran the updated program on my 12.5 Mhz ZipGSX
IIgs for approx. 1hr with no lockups. My guess is that when running
under acceleration my program was hitting the Toolbox routines too
hard, especially since MidiSynth is very interrupt dependent. Its
weird though, because I could never get it to lockup KEGS - maybe KEGS
handles interrupts somehow differently?
I won't be home tonight, but I'll endeavour to put up a new beta
version that addresses most (if not all) of the issues raised sometime
over the weekend. I'll try and get the MidiSynth files up as well once
I'm happy with them. When all the issues are verified (by you my beta
testers), I'll look at re-labeling it 1.0 final.
Cheers,
Mike
