I agree with the general hardware reliability statement. I hear claims that
newer hardware is made with more refined manufacturing techniques and lasts
far longer, but I absolutely do not believe it.
I have noticed that the older something is the longer it works. As a result
I have a 'bubble' of 15-20 year old gear still working, with less before
and after.
