Maybe you could try ap2222pc ? It's fairly ancient, slow, and requires
real-mode DOS on the PC side, but it did work for me before I got hold
of a SSC card. It works over the Apple's joystick port and a PC's
parallel port, so you can use it on a "naked" Apple, no extra
electronics are required. You do have to build your own cable though.
