Re: What causes Vertical Stripes in GS/OS 6.0.1 desktop?

Well after reading thru the replies I did something that didn't even
occur to me earlier, I went thru the menu options of the TV. (Yes, it
is a CRT) There's a picture option simply called, "Digital Enhance"
with three options; On, Off, Auto. I set it to off and the problem
went away.

Thanks.

Outstanding!

I understand that, but your *monitor* is resampling the video signal,
and that's where the problem occurs. Sorry I wasn't clearer about this.

If you were to display the output of your converter on an analog CRT
monitor, you would not see those beats or aliases, since then no
resampling is done.

Hey Michael,

Rob is the guy who posted this thread, not me. He wrote he's using
a 32" Panasonic TV. I assumed it was CRT -- maybe not.

And it may be a CRT but still have digital processing...

With my setup, I've used both a CRT (no issues) AND 19" LCD TVs
with Ypbpr inputs.. no banding there either. Guess I got lucky on the
LCD side with either excellent filters or remarkable dot clock
synching.

Way to go--luck counts! ;-)
