Which one are you using? I was using bogofilter for a while, but it
eventually got to where it wasn't filtering anything properly. For the past
month or two, SpamAssassin seems to be doing a better job; it uses multiple
techniques (not just Bayesian filtering) to catch spam.
If you run your own mail server, it's something to consider.
