I've fixed many of those- the most common problem is fractured solder
joints at the connectors where cables attach, and at the flyback
transformer. I always thought it was due to mechanical stress and
thermal stress, but recently read something about zinc migration from
the pins being the cause. In any case, it's hard to see but looks like
a gray ring around a pin. View under 5x or 10x magnification. I
started routinely resoldering those connections. The poster who
suggested electrolytics is also on target. There is one near a
heatsink at the top of the board that fails regularly, presumably due
to heat.
