You can search this group for keyword "convection" for past
discussions on keeping your GS cool.
The case is designed to cool by convection, so adding anything to
change it's flow or block the vents isn't recommended. If you have 2
or 3 cards installed, fan-assisted cooling was strongly recommended by
Apple - iirc, it could void your warranty back then if you didn't.
The Kensington Systemsaver GS is your best option. Personally, I DO
NOT recommend the AE Conserver (a similar competing product) because
of it's fan placement - it's not near enough to the power supply or
slots 3/4 where accelerators are placed. If radio interference is a
non-issue, you could always remove the metal shield from within the
lid - it's just a big heat reflector otherwise.
