Yeah, both originally ported by the same guy, Hilary Cheng. At one
point he said he was going to find the zaurus source for me, but
didn't deliver. Doug Kwan will be re-releasing YAE under the GPL which
might help.

Zaurii is the generally recognised plural. ;-) The latest version
(3200) has 64MB RAM, 128MB ROM and a 6GB HD. It's been out for over a
year now, so I'm hoping Sharp might release something new soon. A
flash drive would be great but it's probably too expensive.

A HD does mean you can run a proper Linux distro though. I mean with
OpenOffice and stuff. This guy's site has tons of good info:

Yep, XScale is ARM. I co-wrote one for the ARM before, but the
particular CPU is not so relevant at today's clockspeeds anyway. It
would be great to hijack the zaurus kernel and build an Apple II
emulator around it -  the ultimate portable Apple II. A nice project
for someone with the requisite free time. ;-)
