A port to wxWidgets would be reasonably straightforward, since wxWidgets
is modeled after MFC.  You'd still have to rewrite the file viewer though --
there's no RichEditCtrl equivalent.

Qt seems nicer than wxWidgets, but I haven't worked with it.

Various people have suggested compiling against the WINE libraries, but I
never investigated that.  CiderPress.exe runs under WINE but it's pretty easy
to make it crash.  (I was hoping to valgrind the main app, but even with
various patches I never got valgrind+WINE to work.)

An ambitious individual could rewrite the app in Java and port it to SWT
or Swing, but that's a huge project.
