I bought both books from Resource Central many years ago so should be

Yes - pages 4-18 to 4-20 + 6-8 to 6-10 & 10-6 cover the enhanced
firmware.
Double Hi and Lo Res graphics are covered on pages 1-7/8, 5-7 and 8-19
to 8-24.
The Platinum IIe is not covered but both the beige NTSC (Rev-A and Rev-
B) and PAL IIe are.

Probably not. There is certainly a lot in common between the the two
Understanding books.
It does have the circuit of the PAL IIe color encoder which is missing
from the IIe Tech Ref.

Not a full set of schematics at the back of the book but each chapter
has a circuit diagram of the portion of the circuit being discussed
and if you were to merge them all I think you would end up with a
complete schematic.
