Hello Magnus,
boot the DOS 3.3 Master or a copy of it.
Type NEW to delete any program in memory.
Then type
INIT HELLO,S6,D1,V13
to format a disk in Slot 6, Drive 1 with volume number 13. INIT always
stores the current program on the disk at the end of formatting as a
"greeting program". Customarily it's always called HELLO.
The only important thing about this is the Volume number (13 in this
case) because that's the only info that won't be overwritten during a
later ADT transfer to this disk. There is no Volume *name* under DOS,
those are used only in ProDOS.
Volume numbers can be 1 through 254; if none is given, then 254 is used
as a default (a choice I find odd, but hey, this was 1978).
