We needed a fair bit of +12V, but nothing on +5V. The power supply's
regulation is based off of what happens to +5V, though, which is why we put
a dummy load on it. It was cheaper to hack up a computer power supply
(maybe $20-$25 each at Fry's) than to buy a purpose-built single-output
supply with the output capability we needed.
