When deployed we would stop in at a certain port where they had a
record/tape
library that you could copy. They closed them down in mid 80's. Of
course you
haven't heard poor quality until you try to listen to a song with a
radar
interrupting. The borrowed tapes I copied underway were even more
polluted.
I don't even listen to them now. Computer stuff blocking access, and tv
is on. 
In truck, radio is better, traffic reports/ etc.
