I was curious regarding this, so I pulled out my trusted //e (enhanced
but not platinum model) and hooked it up to a Apple 5.25" Drive
(A9M0107) via an Dsub type I/O controller and it booted fine. So I'm
still not convinced there is a problem. I tried running a few different
disks and all seemed to work OK.

I do have all of the original ROMs and a 6502 (not a 65C02) as well,
but my motivation wasn't high enough to try this out. Maybe one day
when I've got an hour or so to kill.   ;-)
