Hi, I have a gs which has a smoked ADB port.It works fine except that I can not attach a keyboard (well I can but it will not work)What would be a systematical way to figure out if I can repair it ?Or is any issue with the ADB the kiss of death and I can use him for parts now?
First, verify that the ADB socket and its PC board connections are sound--sometimes it's just a broken connection from flexing. If that fails, you will probably need to replace the ADB controller chip--for which the likely source is another (spare?) IIgs board. ;-( -michael NadaNet networking for Apple II computers!
