Re: Bringing a IIgs to life without any boot disks

2.) I'd be interesting in adding an old Mac to my collection if I can use it directly write bootable 800KB images for the IIgs. Can anyone tell me what kind of Mac I need?
What's the latest Mac model/System ver. that can write Apple IIgs images?

I got a $20 Mac SE Superdrive from ebay and use it to remote boot the IIgs . I also use it to make 800k Floppies for the IIgs (I attached an external 800k drive)
Usually I use my eMac to download disk images from the WEB.
Drop the images or write the extracted images on a 1.44 MB floppy which can be read by the SE. The SE can then put it on the 800k floppies or store it in a directory which can be accessed by the IIgs via Apple Talk.

I am looking for a Ethernet card for my SE so that I can eliminate the floppy jogging, if someone on the list has one to give away I will be happy to take it:-)
