Should not matter too much. If you need the data back, simply remove the magnetic disk itself from the floppy disk and place into a new one. (Use a razor blade to open the edge of the diskettes.) If there is readily apparent crud, very carefully clean it by dipping in water and wiping gently with a clean cloth, then place it in a new disk.

This has been documented to work many times in similar situations.
