Should not matter too much. If you need the data back, simply remove the magnetic disk itself from the floppy disk and place into a new one. (Use a razor blade to open the edge of the diskettes.) If there is readily apparent crud, very carefully clean it by dipping in water and wiping gently with a clean cloth, then place it in a new disk.

This has been documented to work many times in similar situations.

I find that using a pair of sharp scissors to cut about 1/32" of the
folded "top" edge of the jacket is much faster and safer than trying
to slit it with a blade.

If you're worried about the disk itself, just slide the disk down
to the "bottom" of the jacket before cutting, and it'll be well out
of the way of the cut.
