Paul,
I would gladly sacrifice the speed for the aesthetics that I mentioned.
However, I would also forego the aesthetics in favour of a working
printer. ;-)
BTW the Epson Stylus 800 has the serial port for Mac compatibility - I
am not using a serial to parallel converter.
If nobody can shed any light on how to get the serial connection going,
I guess I'll have to install the parallel card again. :-(
