Hi,
I recently acquired an old Epson Stylus Color 800 from a friend of mine
who upgraded his printer, and I grabbed it because I remember reading
in the A2 FAQ that the epsons were partially supported (and I don't
have a printer for my IIgs). I initially set it up using a parallel
card and was able to print successfully from PrintShop GS as stated in
the FAQ. However, I then went on to buy a serial cable (Belkin
F2V024-06) which claims to be a Mac to Imagewriter II compatible cable.
I hooked this up to the serial interface on the Epson, but have had no
response from the printer whatsoever. Neither PrintShop GS (using the
IIgs printer port setting) or a PR#1 seems to print anything. I was
under the impression that this setup should work.
Have I bought the wrong cable? Need the Harmonie drivers? Something
else that I'm not aware of?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
-p
