Appalm key mappings

Anyone used the Appalm emulator?  I'm trying to play Ultima 4, and I
can't figure out the key mappings.  According to the program
preferences:

Up: 				*U
Left/Center/Down: 	^H 	^M 	^U
Down: 				*D

With that current set, I can move N, W, and E but not S.  It may be
helpful to note that the directions listed above (Up, Left, Center,
etc) refer to the Palm's navigation controls, not directions in the
game.  If should also be noted that the Up command doesn't move the
character north, the Center control does.

The rest of the game commands are entered through Graffiti and work
fine.
