Hello,
is it possible to get the ProDOS 5.25 inch boot sector to boot a file
that isn't called "ProDOS"?
The Infocom V6 cames call their reduced DOS "INFODOS", but I had no luck
preparing a new bootable 5.25 inch image with that, except if I renamed
it to "PRODOS". Just patching the string "INFODOS" in the place where
"PRODOS" is in the boot block doesn't work, even though "PRODOS" is
followed by a bunch of space characters (0x20 Hex) in the image.
I guess that the length of the file name to find is also stored
somewhere in the boot block. I'm sure I could find out if I tried hard
enough, but maybe somebody else has already solved the problem before?
Best wishes,
