In my case it was due to my habit of spending school lunchtimes
'hacking' on the classroom Apple IIe - neither of my parents showed any
interest, and have had very little interest since.

Though I'm in the smaller 30 something group which is probably
dominated by parents buying computers for their children since that was
the 'future'
