That'll be lots o' blocks!Blocks and blocks and blocks and blocks. :-) I seem to remember it taking about an hour for a fairly sparse 32MB partition.Oh, Hi! Yeah, and it seems to be having a little difficulty. First try, it sent 3276 of 65535 blocks and then it hung on a send. I dropped the speed to 19200 (from 115k) and started everything up again, and went to bed. This morning it was hung near the end (it did send around 30 of the 32MB.) Now I'm trying a third time. I didn't have any problems with any of the 800k images.
This is why the CFFA has changed my life--I can now back up everything in seconds (or a minute if you count unplugging the CF card and carrying it to my PC's CF reader).
I wonder if this can be fixed in the software. My guess is that the client thinks it has sent a block and is waiting for an ACK or NAK, but the server is waiting for the block to finish before sending anything back. Deadlock. Maybe the server could send a NAK if no data is received after 20 seconds while receiving a block.
Sounds like a good place to start looking. Protocols without timeouts are a serious problem in networking. And then there's the issue of recovery from a timeout... -michael New, faster SUDOKU v2.0 solver for Apple II's!
