Hiya,
I was wondering if anyone had any pointers before I try this. I
recently got a IIGS with System 5 installed on an internal Vulcan 40MB
HD, and I'd like to upgrade it to System 6.0.1.
The IIGS has a 5.25 and 3.25 drive, along with the 40MB HD. I am going
to put in a super serial card tonight, and I do have a copy of ADT on
5.25" disk.
My plan of attack is something like this:
(1) Install Super Serial Card in the IIGS and connect to windows PC
(2) ????
(3) Profit!
No, wait.. that was for something else..
(1) Install Super Serial Card in the IIGS and connect to windows PC
(2) Set IIGS slot 2 to "My Card"
(3) Boot up the ADT disk off the 5.25" drive
(4) Transfer ADTPro client to the IIGS
(5) Boot ADTPro client and transfer the System 6.0.1 images to 3.5"
disks
(6) Run System 6.0.1 from the newly minted disks
I'm pretty new to the IIGS...
When I run the System 6.0.1 install disks, will it let me format and
install onto the Vulcan HD? Anything special I need to do? Actually,
if I have ADT Pro going, I can backup the current Vulcan HD image(s)
over to the PC for backup (there's an 8MB partition and a 32MB.)
Does that plan look reasonably correct?
Thanks,
// CHRIS
