It's been at least 15 years since I added it to my system and just booting
programs like Appleworks, it shows up in the upper right hand corner of
the screen. I've never replaced the battery in all that time so I'm lucky
there as I don't recall using a disk to set the clock. I presume there is
a rom chip with a setup utility on it when you flip the switch and turn
on the computer. If the battery dies and I have to replace it, I'll note
my exact setup and post it. Have you tried just putting a battery in it,
plugging it in the IIc and booting to see if a setup screen comes up?
